Review on Critter Spray Products 22032 118SG Siphon Spray Gun by Larry Allen

Absolutely the best new tool in my arsenal

This product is amazing. A few things are necessary for a good result. I have read all the questions and answers and most of the reviews. Below is a summary of what has proven to be the most important. I used latex semi-gloss paint. It is extremely important that the paint is diluted. I used 60% paint, 20% paint and 20% water. The finished liquid should have the consistency of maple syrup. The next important point is filtering the color, even if it's brand new. Also, have a small wire or large-headed sewing needle handy. You'll need to periodically stick a pin/wire in the paint nozzle and reinsert it when you need to let things dry between coats to prevent the paint from clogging the nozzle. I could work 4 hours without cleaning the equipment. I found that 60 to 70 psi was optimal for me. Be sure to swipe through the project to stop the paint splatters on your material. Keep the critter about 6 inches from the surface and move fairly slowly. One last tip: all layers of paint should be fairly thin. The first layer should look like it has very little paint. spray. DO NOT do this or you will create streaks and streaks. The next layers provide coverage. I applied 4 coats to a cut toilet door. the end result has no streaks, drips or brush marks. The total time allotted to drying time was perhaps 10% of what would be required with a brush. At 85% exterior I repainted every 30 minutes. So glad I finally got a cheap product that exceeds all expectations.
